(Disclaimer: Health, Safety and Community are important to Colonna's Shipyard, Inc. The Just Lose It! Weight Loss Club Congratulations to our newest winners:
2nd Highest Overall Weight Loss - Anita Crook Everyone who participated should be proud of their hard work…good job! Maliea Evans - Paint Shop At Colonna's Shipyard we promote a culture of ethics among our employees and business partners. The Paint Shop is one of the most critical shops at Colonna’s Shipyard. We strive to do the best job and continuously train with such great effort as to ensure that all jobs done by the Paint Shop are of the highest quality. The Paint Shop has worked hard to maintain a QP1 standard which will affect each and every employee at Colonna’s. Our shop has the responsibility of keeping the environment safe, performing tasks such as hanging tarps and plugging the docks in an effort to keep pollutants out of our waterways. We are a service shop to our customers needs, whether it’s blasting in the pit or docks, or pressure washing and painting. At the beginning of this year, the Paint Shop implemented intense training and instruction on how to handle all equipment, painting techniques and documentation in the safest manner. Our blasters received their C-7 certification last year which enables us to sand blast on government contracts. The Paint Shop management has restructured as a team making each supervisor accountable for the actions. Our goal is for each employee to take pride in their work and continue to make this shop the safest and most productive shop at Colonna’s Shipyard. By Teresa Crocco
